Some of you out here in the void may have noticed that I’ve changed from The Magickal mystery Tour to Waking the Witch (and whatever corresponding names I could get for social media). I was bogged down with too many questions about what this site is and what it isn’t, and I’ve finally decided that none of that matters. It is exactly what it is.
It’s been a long time since I’ve made a post. It’s been a really long time. It was well before the pandemic started and we became stuck at home in our lounge clothes for months (years) on end. But even before that, I had some fantastic experiences that I should have written down.
What’s happened in the last few years? First and foremost, I haven’t stopped learning or growing. I had become bored with my craft and decided to study a new tradition, and it’s shaping me in new and exciting ways. I’ve also got a massive list of things I want to write about and the excitement to write about them.
I’ve almost always been a solitary practitioner. And while I may continue to be, I also find that now I want to experience some things with other people. I want to have discussions about a million different topics. I want to read a book on the craft and ask others what they think about it. I want to hear other opinions on the trends I see in online witchcraftery. Yes, that’s a term I just made up, and I’m keeping it. I don’t know how I envision these things happening yet, but I think about it daily. (Witchcraft book club sounds hilarious, right? Right … ?) In the meantime, I still have no problem talking to myself.
That said, now let’s wake the witch …
